MSI offers energy management services that are practical
and cost effective. Our experienced staff and engineers have
been facility managers, utility executives, construction managers,
and businessmen who recognize the need to be energy conscious.
MSI's staff and advisors have helped design the EnergyStar
program, they are LEED (Leadership in Environmentally Efficient
Design) certified and are actively offering renewable technology
integration solutions.
We work as your agent - The Owner's Agent in crafting your
energy solutions and cutting your energy bill. We are not
resellers of any particular technology and have no vested
interests in having you buy energy solutions.
Energy Strategy - We will prioritize the
energy conservation initiatives available to you with the
shortest payback periods. These could include: Fuel shifting,
Peak shaving, Load shedding. Maximize use of off-peak energy
prices, Optimize performance of existing systems, and Analyze
past utility bills for possible cash returns. In addition,
we can write your energy procurement policy for purchasing
energy in deregulated markets.
Physical Facility Review - a review of your
physical facility (drawings and structure) and an energy audit
will give you ideas on options available to save energy. These
energy savings options will be linked to State and Federal
incentives that are passed down through the local utility.
At MSI, we will consider the capital cost outlay and work
up a life cycle cost analysis that will ensure a payback in
2 - 10 years.
A/E Services Support - getting involved
at the design or reconstruction stage is a good idea to incorporate
the necessary energy efficiency and "sustainable building"
design features. Use of proper materials to orientation and
size of the roof can determine energy use in the house, which
in the long run can save on energy bills. In selecting a "holistic"
approach, we will advise on lighting, insulation, roofing,
windows, HVAC and heat recovery systems.
Sustainable Awareness Campaign - depending
on the size of your facility, a continuous, sustainable energy
awareness campaign is a good idea for you to become a "Green"
company. Being considered "Green and Clean" is not
only environmentally sound, but also can benefit your company
through federal incentives for grants and contracts.
Our APPROACH to Energy Efficiency:
·
Perform energy audit.
·
Convert every watt, gallon of oil, CCF of natural gas and gallon
of propane into BTU's.
·
Research to establish benchmarks in comparable facilities or
industries.
·
Use BTU's/square analysis to identify opportunities for savings.
·
Develop financial model to calculate payback period.
·
Maximize rebates from local utilities.
·
Develop capital budgets for implementation of energy conservation
initiatives.
·
Assist with developing ESPCs (Energy Services Performance Contracts).
We has developed an interactive Energy
Analysis Tool to determine whether the energy consumption for
a building is below or above industrial benchmarks. Please visit
Energy Tools & Resources
for more further information.
Our APPROACH to integrating Renewable/Alternative
energy:
·
Backup power using micro turbines - peak shaving.
·
Mini-hydro systems - battery charging.
·
PV Integrated Construction and Solar Roofs - sun power.
·
Alternative fuels - ethanol.
·
Small wind engines - enable "net metering" which
is a federal law. |
